As business becomes ever more competitive, the fleet driver has come under
additional pressure to meet both sales targets and deadlines combined with
attending meetings and conducting client visits around the country. It has long
been known, that lapses in driver concentration lead to potential situations
going unnoticed by the driver and ultimately to a collision. All the more reason
to undertake periodic training in order to increase our situational awareness
and improve our hazard perception skills.
And of course, as we change our fleet vehicle for a new one, the equipment level
changes also. How many safety features do you have in your vehicle and how do
they work? How would you react in an emergency? Come with us and we will show
you exactly what you can expect.
Our 'Business Driver Programme' is unique to Ireland and covers both On the Road advanced driving skills
and Advanced Car Control which takes place in a controlled environment.
The programme consists of real activities in your own vehicle:
Hazard perception briefing
On road observation skills - How much quality information can you take in?
Commentary driving - Tell us what you see and how you plan to deal with it
Trainer Feedback - Key points and constructive feedback from your advanced
driver trainer
Briefing on built in vehicle safety features and their use to include:
ABS - Collision avoidance skills
ESP / DSC - How does this system assist in a skid? What will it feel like?
Traction Control - How does it help me?
Do you wear your seat belt??
In addition, we will experience the undesirable sensation of being suspended
upside down in an overturned Audi A4 in a hydraulic cradle. This is a real eye
opener and really does take the 'Hollywood Theory' out of the equation. This is
an experience not to be missed. So are you as good a driver as you think you are, or could you improve your
existing skills?
Safe Pass and Forklift Driving has to be refreshed on a
periodic basis, so why not our driving skills? |
